Carpets, rugs, and other rectangular designs that are symmetrical in the both horizontal and vertical directions can be easily implemented in SymmetryWorks using, for example, the Double mirror symmetry. The border may consist of one or more symbols arranged in a
band (linear design), with a corner piece in a separate symbol created with one of the available mirror symmetries. The centerpiece and lengthening pieces can be implemented with replicas (live copies), which are also available in SymmetryWorks.
